Little Nightmares III: Play Together With the Friend’s Pass

The Friend’s Pass lets a Little Nightmares III owner invite a friend to the shared campaign. The second player needs the free “Free Trial & Friend’s Pass” edition. This is online co-op, so both need an internet connection.

Installation and Invitations

1. Decide who owns the full game. The other player installs Free Trial & Friend’s Pass from the same platform’s store.
2. Both players launch the game or pass. Check that the chosen platform editions match.
3. The owner invites their friend online. Accept the invitation and begin a shared save.
4. Continue using that two-player save with the same players. Start a new save for another group or a solo playthrough.

According to the official FAQ, a save cannot switch between solo and co-op. The game offers up to eight save slots. Plan a shared slot if you also want to play alone.

What You Can Play Without Owning the Full Game

Two players who have not purchased the game can try its beginning through the free trial. If one later buys the full game, trial progress carries over and both can continue together.

The trial alone does not unlock the full campaign. At least one player needs the full version for that. The FAQ also does not confirm crossplay between different manufacturers. Its cross-generation statement explicitly concerns launch; assume a later expansion only with newer confirmed platform information.

If an invitation fails, first check the installed edition, ownership of the full game and the platform combination. A missing pass has a different cause from incompatible platforms. Create a new save for another friend, rather than treating an existing shared playthrough as a lobby with freely interchangeable players.
